Rainbow Old World Christmas
Description
The Rainbow signifies the bridge between heaven and earth. The Old Testament tells how God placed a rainbow in the sky following the flood as a promise of reconciliation. Today the rainbow represents the coming of sunshine after the rain and the possibility of a brighter future.
Each figural glass ornament produced for The Merck Family's Old World Christmas is hand crafted in age-old tradition using the same techniques that originated in the 1800's. Molten glass is mouth-blown into finely carved molds available only to the Merck Family's Old World Christmas, before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The ornaments are then hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps to achieve the beautiful creations.
Measurements: 2 X 3 X 1.5 (HxLxW)
The Merck Family's Old World Christmas also presents a delightful assortment of nostalgic greeting cards, enclosure cards and framed shadow box prints using images recreated from the family's historical collection of antique images. The richly-colored imagery is beautifully printed and then dusted with fine gold and iridescent glitters.
